The Pile Driver is an extension of the "Driver" series. Emerging from feedback on the very popular "Minnie Driver", the "Pile Driver" is a reaction to wanting a little more out of the Minnie Driver in smaller or softer surf. Essentially the same board in foil, rocker and outline. the main change is an extension of the tail outline into a subtle double bump swallow. The extended rail line of a swallow tail adds drive and also brings more width and surface area in the tail. More surface area = More lift, which means more fun in small to medium surf.

i wish they had a pic of the pile driver instead of the sub scorcher where the pile driver belongs... i have three to decide from i think the cc, the v2 and the pile driver.. i kinda like the uni too but not as much as the other ones

Is the photo of the board on the left to the rocket a subscorcher 2 or the pile driver with a swallow? Definately looks like a sub 2

The Pile Driver is a good wave board, yeah pretty similar overall foil as the Mini Driver, but it has a much different back half of the board. Its has a subtle double wing swallow and carries a little more width than the MD up until that first wing, then it runs quickly inward towards that swallow. A different approach to maximizing performance in small waves while still having bite as the waves get better.

I saw a couple of those Firewire V2s at the Catalyst shop in San Clemente.

Some of the Japan exclusive models are pretty interesting.

Is that exclusive to Japan? I thought the Pile Driver was being released here as well. Looks like the same dims as seen in the US marketing material.

The PD isn't exclusive, but there's quite a few on there that are. Mostly modified popular models with glassers nightmares for tails :D

Any Idea when they will be available UK Europe side? The 508 PD might find a home in my quiver. I love the ride of a swallow tail.
