What's up with Michel this year
I know he's ripping because I saw him taking Canggu apart a few months ago
Absolutely shredding
But he seems to be having a bad run in the comps this year
Number 16 at the moment so hopefully he get get back in the top ten soon
Hopefully he can turn it around and win a few

It's a strong field. People like Ace Buchanan and Medina are sitting mid field on the rankings and both are former event winners and challengers for any event. Bede Durbidge is on the cusp of missing the cut and he's a perennial top 5 finisher and former Pipe Master. The top 30 or so rip the bag and the top 10 or 15 are all potential title contenders. This is the strongest, deepest field in ASP history, IMHO.

yeah guys, being in the top 20 is huge. the field is deep and one can come up against someone having a great run...
He looked super sharp in his first heat.

His first heat was a demonstration in flow, speed and power
He's got Gabriel Medina next
That will be a hard one

I see he has a couple of pintails in his quiver. Anyone know what boards these are?

I don't think he would win too many heats with a combined total of 6
Through to the next round though

Yeah it looks really tough. Seems like you've got to stay busy and get a bit lucky. Michel doesn't seem to go for the catching lots of waves approach and it's showing in his score lines... He's lucky that was a no loser round, fingers crossed he puts a good heat together in round 5.

It would have been great to see Andy Irons surfing in France in the current comp
Absolute standup in big angry barrels

But how good was Michel's perfect 10 in Portugal
Looks like he was gone for all money but then he comes steaming out of the barrel
