Went to my local shop yesterday to look at an EF. The shop assistant said there was a rumor the EF is getting replaced with a new model! Any truth to this?
Don't think that's the case. The El Fuego is a firm favourite with customers and Firewire Staff, I don't see them replacing it. Possibly the shop is going to be ordering the Activator or JackKnife rather than El Fuegos, but I'm sure you'd still be able to order an El Fuego if you wanted to.
nahh not at all. there may be some confusion in that demand for a new board may "replace" demand for an old model, but we are not discontinuing anything. If you can't find it at retail, you can always special order one.

Ha ha. No no problem with ordering them, the guy said there was a replacement model on the way. I was looking at it for an in-between the SP which is too flat for waist high plus and the ADDvance which I think is a bit too rockered for waist high, however i would really like 50litres.
On the ADDvance, every time I surf that board I am more impressed with it's capabilities for an older fella like me. I put a set of JC1's and it seemed to take away abit of its corkyness. Last surf was slightly overhead and sucky, I got in early, never missed a takeoff and did everything I wanted to do ( I don't go too vertical or smash any lips). Very happy with that board.
My SP is probably too big for me but I like the volume. With the extra volume I find it hits it's limits very quickly so there is a big void between the 2 boards. Ideally a slightly flatter rockers ADDvance would be good. Dreaming
Hey STC, i think the Elfuego is a great in between board. Its one of my favorites. its fast, paddles great, catches waves really well and you can ride it with a little less volume because it has a nice wide nose. super fun board in all conditions.
I thought the Dom/Spit had the same rocker as the ADDvance. I have tried to look on the foil profile on the website but it is hard to compare if they are not close to each other. I might start another topic in the ADDvance section on this as I would be interested to know.
well the boards are a bit different in rocker because the addvance starts at 606. Nev designed that one to have a bit more flip in the nose compared to the rest of the board because it has a ton of length, volume and width. the dom and spit have their own rocker profiles because the shapes are so much different....
