  • Do the MB weights that much more?

    Hi all,

I just bought a new MB 5"10 thin to replace my TAJ 6"01. But this board is much heavier (by at least 1/3rd of its weight) than my TAJ, I compared it to a MD 5"8, a TAJ 6"0, and even a 5"10 Spitfire is lighter.

I don't know perhaps the hydrophobic layer or the Springers weights a lot? It is normal?

Shouldn't be. Have you weighed it? I'd guess 2.8kg ish...

I will try that, but I don't have the correct equipment for that. Thank you!

The newer valveless boards are slightly heavier than the older valved boards in my experience. I had a 6'4 Flexfire that was 2.3kg and have a newer 6'0 custom Taj that is around 2.8kg.
They all differ a little though but shouldn't been any huge difference.

I weighted both and the TAJ was 2.7 kg and the MB was 2.8 kg. I think this is because of the general thickness of the MB that it seems to weight more.

Yeah there's definitely a bit more thickness through the rail on the MB.
That's not a bad weight for good waves though.
    Working...
