  • Twin fin on the SP?

    #1
    Hey,

I posted my first post here a bit ago about which SP to get, the 5'6 or 5'4. Im 6'1 200 LBS, and ended up with the 5'6 because I got a smokin deal on it. Ended up trading it for a brand new 5'4 FST because I felt I couldnt throw the 5'6 around like I wanted to. Have been using the Controllers on it and absolutely love it.

Anyway, my question was about trying to throw on a twin setup on it. Has anyone tried it and liked it? I was thinking about the Future K1 or Rasta Keels.

I live in San Diego and mostly surf it 2-5 ft days on sort of mushy days. Any help would be awesome, thanks in addvance!

The Rasta's and K1's I've compared on another board and the Rasta's were a fin that allowed much more progressive surfing.
They will also be a lot easier to unload if you don't like them.
They also could go well if they don't have enough hold paired with either a set of T1 or FAMT robber trailers as a quad set up.
Both these models of trailers you can buy individually.

its a good thought. I'd be interested to see what other people do. I personally would never ride my Potato without trailers. I think a quad set is needed because of the tail area and width. I think the bord feels more lively that way.

      Cheers and keep us posted!!

Yeah, its hard to imagine without trailers, but I guess once this weather passes I think Mitch's has one of those Future tree fins right? Hopefully I can just test some and Ill let you guys know how it went...

        Thanks

Finally just a few icebergs coming downstream so I went out.Tried my potato with the front controllers only. The board felt almost like a "controlled" Alaia, very skiddish. The front finplughs are a bit to far up for it to work properly as a twinnie.
          Was actually interesting though

Rastas have a lot more area than the front fins from a set of controllers.
            I love fin experimentation.
