  • Way of identifying the 'new' TT from the 'old'?

I'm really keen on getting a BP (would ideally like it in FST) and think that the updated TimberTek will be the closest thing to it, however I'm still wary about getting one of the older types that seemed to be a little underdone, not enough resin making them more prone to dinging etc.

I'm pretty hard on my boards, especially on the deck, so my question is how to identify which boards are the newer, beefed up boards? Is it a matter of the ones stamped with TechnoGrain are the problematic ones? Is there a production number on the boards I could use for reference? I had a quick look in my local shop, but they only had RF BPs, so I don't have a reference point to the 'feel' of the new boards I've read about in other threads, which really makes me hesitate buying one online.

    Any help would be appreciated

As far as I know there have been 3 versions (I could well be wrong)

    1) TechnoGrain
    2) TimberTek with light hot coat
    3) TimeberTek with heavier hot coat

I have no way of suggesting how you'd know between 2 & 3 unless you could check them both out at the same time, guess 3 would be heavier?
