  • Beloved BP taking in a wee bit of water at FCS fin plug

    Esteemed FireWire'ers;

    I just noticed a water leak at one of the rear fin plugs. What the best compound to seal this leak? A pic is attached of water beading out of the leaky area.

    I mainly sirf on weekends and place is pretty dry so a week will be enough to drain this bad boy.

    Let me know what you all think I can use.

    You will need to dig out the area around the plug as it looks like the bond between the plug and foam is gone. Once fully dry fill with q-cel and glass a patch right over the plug. You can back off the grub screws as not to glass them in.

      Cool, nic eman. Yes, that blemish in the pic is actually a bit of sea weed that i just now dug out. You are tottaly right, the bond weakened is all.

      Excellent instructions man, many thanks!
