  • Kite board lineup is confusing and incomplete.

I think it would be far easier to get the board you want if say one or two board shapes (swallow/squash) were offered in a range of sizes to suit everyone.
I believe you are losing heaps of sales because you have too many options and not enough sizes. It's the craziest selection process I've seen.

the page layout also needs reviewing. You have to look at the name of the board by code and cross reference to the table in order to get info.
Put all the specs in the board description, or simply put the board name in the table.

All people want is a great board- In their size!

so it would look like this:
    Hellfire KHF-506D-03 5'6" 19" 2 3/16" diamond suit rider 60-75kg 24.5
    HellfireKHF-506D-03 5'8" 20" 2 3/16" diamond suit rider 70-85kg 26
    HellfireKHF-506D-03 5'10" 20 3/4" 2 3/16" diamond suit rider 80-90kg 28
    HellfireKHF-506D-03 5'11" 20 1/4" 2 3/16" diamond suit rider 85-95kg 30
    HellfireKHF-506D-03 6' 21 1/8" 2 3/16" diamond suit rider 90-100kg 32

    INSTEAD OF
    KHF-506D-03 5'6" 19" 2 3/16" diamond Futures Quad Vector II F4(375) (1/2 rear) NAT 24.5
    KDM-508R-03 5'8" 20" 2 3/8" round Futures Quad Vector II F4(375) (1/2 rear) NAT 31.0
    KHF-510D-03 5'10" 19 3/4" 2 3/8" diamond Futures Quad Vector II F4(375) (1/2 rear) NAT 29.4
    KP1-511Q-03 5'11" 18 1/4" 2 1/4" squash Futures Vector II F4(437)-NAT 24.8
    KQF-600S-02 6' 19 1/8" 2 1/4" swallow Futures Quad Vector II F4(375) (1/2 rear) NAT 26.7

    Hey Squad,

Thanks for your feedback. We simply can't do every model of the FireWire surfboard line up in a kite specific model. Oh wait, yes we can!

We are now offering nearly every model of surfboard lineup (FST construction only) in a new reinforced kiting build as a custom order option. This offering is for no insert (strapless) only and the build time is 10-12 weeks. But you can get literally dozens of shapes and sizes to choose from now. We will continue to produce several kite models with inserts in limited sizes for people that want strapped boards. For custom order kiteboards please send an email to [email protected] with your request.

Regarding the board descriptions and web site, we are looking to update the site soon and will make it more user friendly. You comments regarding board codes is noted and will be addressed.

    Thanks,
    -Brian

Good news to hear that there are some enhancements planned. I am excited to see what the new range of kiteboards look like, and the completely strapless custom surfboard range option is absolutely what we are after! FireWire seems very well placed to offer a competitive surf/wave kitesurf crossover board. Its so frustrating to see ALL the other big kite industry brands not really meeting the demands of a growing true wave powered kiting market. The shape, strength, weight, flex (in that order) balance is still an unachieved ideal. Difficult to achieve, but its getting closer! Where are the wider tail hybrid shapes that the surf industry is enjoying for punting airs and new school surf style riding? Where are the wider and shorter fun aerial boards? It feels as though the kite indsusrty is on the edge of appealing to a more open minded generation of surfers, who could very feasably be persuaded over to have the option of wave kitesurfing. They (and I!) need the shapes for it though. Will these options be avaliable in the 2014 range of kiteoard shapes and constructions?
