I'm 48, 5' 10" and 185lbs. I ride a 6' 2" Vanguard. I usually ride boards in the 36 - 38 litres of volume range, my VG is 43.8. I love the performance of this board. For me it's a quiver killer. I can ride in small sloppy surf and it will hold a line in double overhead. It paddles well, catches waves easily and blazes through sections my other (slower) boards would not have a chance of making. Not too mention I can turn it with ease and I've stuck some of the biggest floaters I've ever attempted. I know it sounds like I'm raving, but this board has literally reinvigorated my surfing. I'd say go for it. If it's not for you sell it and look for something else. Sometimes finding that "magic stick" takes effort and persistance.

If you're looking for some performance and ease of paddling take a look at the Addvance. I talked a friend in to buying one of these and he's been a happy camper ever since.

    Good luck in your search.

Hey thanks for the advice. I pretty much your exact size. I might hold out for a nano as I had one about two years ago. Great board until I creased it. I really want to get my hands on one before dropping the money though.
