  • spot on jambo, the mind may be willing but you wont be getting any extra paddle strength, you may gain a little in technique as you surf more but you will most likely just break even.

Just a footnote thought after riding the V4 in small, waist to chest high waves, i still enjoyed it but the problem comes when you transfer too much weight to the front foot without realising it, and...

Just tried searching for any vids of the Vader online, not much out there on the mainstream video websites. But i did watch all the Tomo and Stu vids again on the V4, Vanguard and Nano, and the weird...

I liken the noseless Tomo boards surfing sensation to going around a track flatout in a go cart, and the obvious progression to F1 cars. Not that i would know what either feels like as my only Tomo has...

Yes Goanna, Core and his semi secret spots where he charges on ridiculously small surfboards! certainly fires the imagination, makes great reading. I am riding my 6'6 with medium tri bamboo core firewire...

    2nd V4 surf review

After a long wait between drinks we finally got a swell worthy of a V4 session, but only just. The 1st surf had been in sizey, powerful waves, where it was hard to concentrate on surfing the board, when...

    Unapproved
Are you sure about that Core? Or could you possibly recommend the Vanguard? I have just been on the Vader topic and almost convinced myself i needed one of them, but i think i am leaning towards the Evo...

  • I just went thru the same thing on my TT potatonator, tried the natural oils, no good, then some supermarket glue remover, no good, but had success leaving it to soften in the sun and carefully getting...

I do not get many chances to surf in Indonesia either but at $400 a day for 10 days i didnt think $660 for a new V4 was a waste of money. I think the V4 will be a good choice for our west coast reefs...

Making sense again Jambo, i would love to ride a 6'2 potatonator, but for really bad waves the 6'4 is great, and when it gets quality head high plus, a 6'6' V4 could be the answer.

I have ridden my 6'4 in well overhead waves that were full on the face, as a thruster with big fins and it went well, i would not think it would be a 6ft Indo board but it does the job at home.

  • I just wrote something about this subject, the V4 to me seems very close to your average short board as far as length and volume choice go, it looks weirder than your normal short board but surfs spot...

Good to hear slowman, i was surprised it paddled as well as it did into the waves, the thin nose and increased rocker looks a bit daunting after riding Doms and Potatoes, but i did not miss a wave when...

I think the Unibrow is worth persevering with, not that i have one, i just want one, a 6'8 would do nicely. My Vanguard mate had a spitfire and a dom and he kept the dom, i think the spifire tries to...
