How come that Hellrazor in the video has the Hellfire tail instead of the coffin tail?
R&D board
It looked basically like a hellfire.
haven't got my grubby hands on it yet but, as i understand it it's stretched out like taffy....pulled in nose and tail....milder double scoops....cut squash tail for slightly longer rail line per length...and i think a bit more rocker(not sure of the numbers)....the hellfire moved more than halfway from the spitfire to the shortboard.....this goes nearly right up against your shortboard...
Yeah at the time, we only had a diamond tail in Mexico. We'll refresh it, but just wanted to get that up. Nev does mention we were planning to build it with a different tail.
Also it, in a way, is like a Hellfire, but it really is higher performance. Its an intense board. It could easily replace your every day shortboard....

Have you been eyeing the 601 or the 511, Chris? I think a 600 would be spot on, but it makes sense to offer those in between lengths on some models.
really really stuck here. A 600 would be my model too at least mentally. My 510 Michel is around 27L so I am thinking I would go with the 511. The 601 just feels bigger under my arm. I think the Hellrazor will actually improve on what I didn't like about the 508 sub scorcher which was roughly the same volume as the Hellrazor. I get more rail, but it does have a bit of rocker so I am not sure. I rode a 601 proto but not a square yet...
Need to try it and will report back.
The 511 with that square tail keeping the rail the whole way could be a good balance. Looks like a fun board!
yeah it is. I am going to go 511 because I can't happily wrap my head around going 601 on a hybrid (albeit a HP one) when my go to shortboards are the FAR-600 and the new FMB-600-03...
I meant to write 511 not 509, oops.
Yeah it'd be odd to be riding a longer hybrid. To be, with the 'Ride 1" shorter than your normal board' philosophy it would make sense to move the thickness of each board up 1/16". That'd make each more more in keeping with the average shortboard thickness in those lengths.
