I'd also say, if you already have the Spitfire, the swallow might be good to mix things up.

Thanks for all the replies
have settled nicely on the 5.9 now. had a few surfs and its been great. stoked on it. was the right choice for sure
yeah, matt. december on the east has been all time. such a good month
lets of 2012 brings some more good swells to yorkshire!
it's been dire in the SW!
hey great to hear. Thanks for all the good words.
And i do think that is the right size....
Cheers
Andy,
I love the 5'2, if you like the 5'9 elf then def get the 5'2, Expect it to be a little more floaty than the 5'9 elf but should perform really well at you weight and height. I think the 5'4 will feel like a bit of a boat at your weight. I think you should be choosing between the 5'2 and 5'0 really. I sent you a more detailed message of my thoughts on the board so far. Good luck, its possibly my favourite board.....
agree there, matt, on all counts.
yeah fair assessment prj,
The tail widths of the two are the same, the only difference is obvious: the diamond vs swallow. my take is the diamond actually adds a bit more lift and makes it better in slightly weaker surf. The swallow adds a little bit of bite and control in faster/steeper surf. The differences are pretty subtle, but a seasoned surfer won't have trouble feeling them. This may seem backwards to some, but keep in mind the shape of the board remains the same and the swallow tail exists at the same width as does the diamond.
Cheers all...
for reference.....i jumped on the 5'7 yesterday...paddles as well as my 5'10 hellfire...different rocker/outline and foil...i'm 90kg...would ride it bigger, but got by fine on the 5'7.....
core training....well if you went well on the 5.7 then the 5.9 is def ok for me. had a few more surfs on it now...getting into it! pretty happy
new models looking good
the next question...which of the new models to get! or pick up a performance hybrid as next board?
east coast uk dawny on tommorow!
