In terms of the comparison between a Vanguard and typical HPSB, I think a lot of people have trouble getting their head around that its designed as a replacement to your regular HPSB in waves 2-6ft....
I'm 5'11", 89kg, 15 years surfing shortboards and riding 5'6" (28.8L) without problems in Sydney Australia.
You generally have two choices with these boards. One is to ride a little on the low-end...
Creatures 3 piece for me. I even "modified" the foam at the back of the kick by using a breakknife to carve some foam off where the leashplug sits to be able to get that kick even further back....
I'm surfing the VG 5'6", I'm 5'11" and 88kg, and I've been finding the thruster FCS K2.1 fronts and PC3 in the tail are working great. I tried PC3 all around at first, and althought it was good for...
Great news about the custom board design.
Any chance the V4 will be included similarly?
Thanks mate :) Peeeerfect dims
What are the dims of the boards around 29-30L ? :)
Hi guys,
Fourth surf on my Vanguard and just doing a cutback I have cracked the fibreglass around the fin plugs pretty badly. There is a change in level around the crack and everything.
I...
I know someone with a V4 rounded-nose and he mentioned it surfs a lot better in waves with a little push or a steeper wall, and goes exceptionally well in larger and more powerful surf.
Assuming...
I'd love to hear about it too Chris. I have the 5'6" VG however I'd love a V4 as a step-up for larger waves.
Any updates would be great in sizing, ETA, etc.
I'm 88kg and 5'11" and my 5'6" Vanguard goes great for me. It doesn't paddle into grovel as well as high volume fish designs but its not designed for small and weak waves, its ideally a replacement...
Go for it, the shorter the better with these things I reckon for the whole wake-board / theres no board under my feet feel. If you want it longer then you're better off going with the Tomo pointy...
I'd agree with Chris there nsjoe, I'm 88kg surfing the 5'6" and its a good amount of volume for me. Id normally ride 29-30L, so its perfect for me.
I read someone else put the volume equation well...
I just recently got myself the 5'6" VG, I'm 5'11" and 88kg. Amazing fun, I'm loving this little package of the turning of a HPS but so much extra speed to use at all times.
I've been favoring the...
