Matt_s,
Here are my answers to your four questions:
1) The 5'1"BP is just as fast as the 5'2"SP
2) For me & my statistics, I believe the volume of the 5'1" BP makes it as easy to ride as the 5'2"...
csarqui, glad you liked the video & thanks for the positive comments.
Matt_s, always happy to help out a fellow firewire forum member.
suncoastslop, i was up there for about five days & it really only rained on one of those days. Most of the wind was onshore while i was there but it was the last day in the morning (video day) that...
maxcap, def not any bigger, if anything maybe an inch shorter, like a 5'0". I know the BP doesn't come in that size but my reason to maybe go shorter is mainly due to the fact that I previously owned...
maxcap, check out the video I posted up yesterday of my 5'1" BP surfing 1-2ft beach break surf. It's a fcs fin set up & on this occasion I had the JW-1 fcs thrusters configured. I'm 41yrs, 5'9" &...
FW - Fan, you know that no one plays the flute better than Ron Burgandy. Looking forward to the sequel to Anchorman!
meekthefreak, yes I had the JW-1's in. The thruster just let me stay in & near the pocket a bit better, with a bit more bite. A quad set-up in those conditions would have required a bit more effort...
Hi all,
Here is a small clip of a tiny surf session I had recently over the easter long weekend up at Sunshine beach, Noosa, Australia.
The waves were small & weak but the BP didn't mind that...
Ok fellow firewire frothers, here it is.
My surfing standards ain't great by any means but at least it will show how lively this board goes in very, very, average to poor conditions...enjoy!
...
Hey guys, I've been up at Noosa for a couple of days & my wonderful better half has filmed me surfing a couple of sessions on my BP TG. If I get enough people interested, I may post it up. What do...
ferchizzle, I removed the wax the same way as I normally do, apply a little heat via a hair dryer just to soften the wax, then scrap off with a wax comb.
Matt_s, I originally had a 5'0" RF SP when they were first released. It was both the shortest board I'd ever ridden & the most fun board I'd ever ridden, fast & light. After about 8 months, I decided...
Update on 501 BP TG: Two hour session in 2-2.5ft east swell with light cross shore winds, had quad & knubster set up. The first hour the board felt pretty average & I was just about to change to my...
Thanks for the suggestion pmorgan, I thought about one of those but I decided not too because it would still cover, even just a bit of the beautiful deck of the board.
FW-Fan, I agree, it does defeat the purpose but I'm going to try a few things with it to make it work.
Here's a pic: 1529
Ok, so I have put Versatraction on the deck of BP technograin. First tried it wearing boardies, no top. When you're paddling & sitting on your board, you tend to slide around a bit, doesn't grip like...
nsjoel808,
Just a report on the performance of my new 5'1" Baked Potato Technograin.
Surfed it in 2-2.5ft waves, slightly onshore winds in the morning. Had FCS K2.1 quads set up. This board...
FW - fan, after a couple of surfs the deck looks brand new, no impressions from feet placement. I think TG might be the child of RF & FST. It's as light as RF but as strong as FST, perfect blend of...
nn66, RRP$920 for TG, same price as FST.
Hey gringogrom23, I'd say the 5'3" BPTG would be your size but just to be certain, try using the volume calculator on the firewire website. It should give you a good idea of the volume that best...
Hey FW-Fan, I ordered mine from the lads at the Rip Curl Store Narrabeen. It feels strong & durable, not afraid to hit some close outs, that's for sure. Yeah, my 5'0" SP was in RF.
Hi guys,
Just a report on the performance of my new 5'1" Baked Potato Technograin.
Surfed it in 2-2.5ft waves, slightly onshore winds in the morning. Had FCS K2.1 quads set up. This board...
Cheers Cuttlefish, I might go check them out. They're at Miranda, which isn't too far away from me.
Goanna, I'll be bringing the board with me to work just to make sure you don't break it in before...
