Appreciate the feedback... I looked into my local shops but no SP for demo in the sizes needed. COnsidering venturing up or down the coast if i find a shop demoing the size needed. Probably end up going with the 5-8 based on the volume THanks again.
How big a factor is height in sizing the Sweet P?Considering picking up a sweet P in a few months and figured I would start doing a little research... I am 6'6" and 195 lbs, and am wondering since I am so tall how big a factor that plays into choosing a Sweet P. I was considering the 5-8 or 5-10 as i have never rode any boards this small before I am a bit skeptical. I will be getting a 6-6 hellfire in the coming month(s) before I get the SP if it turns out to be a good fit. Any advice on sizing would be greatly welcomed.
Thanks for the insight!
Nicaragua Surf Safaris Now Ready To Be Booked!!!Hey guys just wanted to touch base with my favorite online surfing community and present some exciting information.
A very good friend of ours recently made his house available to our company for use. It can sleep up to 8 people, and has full services included.
The best part about the deal is that the house is located right in Rancho Santana, and my friend has a 29 foot aluminum boat for use, with local guides. South swell season is getting ready to happen, and the offshore winds are as hard as ever in Nicaragua. So if you and some mates would like to set up a premium surf expedition, let me or Chito know!!!
Possible to get a FST Potato-Nator with custom artwork and glassing?HEY GUYS!!!!!! So, uhm, the Potato Nator gave me a hardon, and when that happens I need to act.
I was wondering if it is even possible to ask for a FST model with extra glassing on the deck, or even get one custom built in Crossfire tech.
The last two firewire I have had are great, but severe differences in terms of rugedness. My Sweet Potato has been ridden probably 10x the amount as my Hellfire, and has no dings. I crushed the deck of my Hellfire and spent two months letting in dry to be fixed properly, and it seems to pressure ding as easy as any PU. Huge footwells and soft spots, BUT I LOVE HOW IT RIDES!!!!! It's not taking water or anything, but the POTATO has been a soldier.
Not a single ding, very slight toe indents and footwells forming, with 10x the usage of my hellfire. I know it happens, and I'm not mad, just looking for a solution.
I'm thinking either 5'10" or 6'0" PN in FST or Xfire with some of the stock graphics on it. Is it possible?

Nailing multiple 360's on one wave in front of a bunch of kooks is always fun=)
Got the best barrel of my life on the Hellfire, love this thing as a quad fin.
Hellfire catches waves pretty damn good, no complaints if you use approximate volume as a Dom. For instance, I have a 6'2" Dom that I don't ride anymore that has 28.5 L of volume, and since I traded up for my Hellfire, It's way better. You can take off later, handle steeper waves and really thrash the lip. LOVE THE HELLFIRE!!!!! But yeah go for bigger fins. AM2's are SICK!
Yeah I just realized that I had to go remake my membership, been too busy surfing and teaching!!!!! But DUDE!!!! I am getting the controller quad set. BEYOND STOKED!!!!
