If they he controllers I would keep the pivot rears and try a set of at least 4.5 " base fronts with some sweep or maybe your H fins.
I thought the futures controllers were OK but I like the rear fins from that set with my Scimitars so far the best and I've played around a bit with a bunch of combos

Scimitar fronts w / Controller reads in waist to head oily groundswell went nuts on some long frontside ( lefts ) waves .
For the sets this board wasn't my ideal choice but was too lazy to walk the 6 blocks back to the house so made do.
Sat on a nice long barrell on a good sized one and ripped a few great top turns and one really long out the back of the wave floater .
My new favorite set up .
I find the scimitars with either the stretch rears or now the controller pivots really makes this board a bit more HP and snappy on waves slightly outside its redline

    Latest spud fin combo

Controller rear with Scimitar fronts .
Went off in flawless leftover 3.3@14 sec ESE groundswell at a secret spot that loves LP only .
I found the scimitar w / stretch rears good too but this setup has plenty of hold and tips over on rail real nice and gives the board a better pocket presence .
This set went off in what was if call perfect waist to just a out head high slopey bowly groundswell today

I like the Controllers in small surf with a little power and the scimitar w Stretch quads when really grovelling little inside shore breakers
Scimitar plus goes rail to rail better for me .
When I've gotten some decent set waves on a more solid 3-4 ft wave the Cont def have a ton of drive but I like the more shortboard feel of the Scim pl Stretch

I have K 2.1 in my FCS boards and find they work great as a thruster and a quad when waves have push and shape . When the waves are softer the lack of base make them not my go to .
Futures quad rear def have a hole in their line . They have some sets that are starting to have different rear templates but are way behind FCS .

WCT tech flex in 510 Spit

    Just picked up a 510 spitfire .
    In futures I have
    WCT TECH FLEX
    TOKORO PRO CORE
    SCIMITAR PLUS HATCHET
    CONTROLLERS
    STRETCH 375& 400 QD rears

The WCT SEEM like a no brained as a thruster set up what quad set you guys running ?
I like quads in fast hollow surf as well as for softer .
If A frame peaks I'll tend to ride convertible boards as a thruster if only fast lefts ( frontside ) I tend to like the down the line speed for making barrels and ability to get higher on the wall easier of quads .

WhAt quad fears work better in the WCT the 375 or 400 for you guys ?

I'm 6' 178 or so Advanced in charging ability and overall experience and solidness but intermediate as far as lip tricks . More a solid long time meat and potatos surfer

Thanks all things to consider . I recently flipped ( sold) a board that was a great paddler and wave catcher but took on a trip or in fast powerful surf and wouldn't lean over on rail or pivot well because of the volume . Loved te early in and paddling back around to the peak but performance wise it really hurt .

Yeah thanks . Seems a lot of FW boards I'm in between . One problem of NE surfing is wide range of wetsuits and conditions we have . In perfect suit in no rubber at my skill set I could ride a 5'8 no problem . It's so hit or miss here and at times very hard currents and winds low end volume boards while great once up and riding force you to work a lot harder especially in 543 steamers and booties hoods and gloves .
Tough call . My gut tells me 6'0 would cover widest end . Just curious how much less performance would there be . Is the rail and tail width the same on the 510&600? Honestly 1.5 cuL in winter rubber is a good compensation but it depends on where it's carried
