I have the quad kiteboard and ride a number of firewire surfboards including the 5'10" vanguard and I am 92kgs. The thing is a breeze to paddle surf, kiting though it just has too much volume and I personally would want something around 5'4" for a kite board. I kited my 5'6" Sweet Potato and it was terrible but it is awesome to surf! As for straps, I find my quad really heavy so would prefer to have a lighter kiteboard and use something like the NSI pads and straps combo - I also like spreading the load for the pads throughout the deck pad as opposed to some screws in the deck.

Vanguard would be a great kiteboard thats for sure but it carries a lot of volume for its length.

Well I finally got to ride the 5'10" and loved every minute of it. It truely is the most bizarre thing I have every held/surfed but once you get past that it is pure joy, fun and fast on the waves and a pleasure to turn. I rode it in clean face cross onshore waves that didnt have much push and at 92kgs it was a breeze. Cant wait to get more waves on it - dont let the look of it put you off, it works and its a blast!!!

Hi guys - 41 yrs young, 92kgs light, not as fit as I used to be, found my 6'4" Hellfire a bit to boaty and absolutely love my 5'6" sweet potato.

Just pulled the trigger on a 5'10" Vanguard but can change order as required - 6'0" better choice? Want to use it for surfing hollower waves than the SP can handle and from chest high up when the SP runs out.

Quad or Thruster? The Hellfire was much better as a thruster for me

    Thanks
