5'7" on order as of tomorrow first thing.
How do they look given I surf a 5'6" SP I figure the 5'7" Pnator would be good. How are you guys sizing them for the boys relative to what you/they are surfin in the SP?Leave a comment:

Very different build. Firewire boards are compression sandwich build. Hydroflex is a glassing house, technology that can be used in PU, EPS, and the various options in weight of those blanks.
Their lamination is 3 dimensional, being it anchors to the blank. So as the valve goes because the blank and lamination is anchored and EPS is porous, Bufo and crew realized they can add air or take away PSI, like a sponge or ballon. For the sake of understanding imagine putting air into a bicycle tire, add air, makes it stiffer, less air its soft and flexes. Also the air thing makes people think they would float more, they dont
Honestly I have had a few and its interesting stuff but changing the pressure is a little to involved. Most leave it at 2 PSI... cool thing is pumping the board up removes denting. As far as how they surf? I like the PU version as I like PU feel. Hydroflex are much stronger then standard PU. The shapability is cool [custom]
They dont have the twang of the FW or the strength of the FST. Another viable tech though but pretty expensiveLeave a comment:

I put it maybe 2 cm in front of the plug

True I also think this shape is the closest thing to a hull that I have ridden. There is a so much wetted surface area and planing surface that I have seen people getting suckered into riding them to small. I found when to big it was hard for the board to break the surface tension if that makes sense. What I have surmised is that these seem to be the right size at chin heigth just what I have noticed. Obviously the variable of body weight applies but that is what I have seen :)Originally posted by iggy View PostLength will be crucial on the small days, even over volume

Really two different shapes IMO. The bottom contours are very different, and the rail lines as well. The Stealth I felt works good in flat faced surf and went really well for me as a quad. The Hellfire I only got a few waves on, cant say I clicked with it, but it was good enough were I have been on the fence to get one. It was a motivated board. The Hell Razor looks closer to what I would like
