    What size baked potato?

    Hi,

I currently ride a Dominator 6'4". In smaller waves, I can catch them, but it's tough and I tend to get into them late. I'd like to get a baked potato, sweet potato or potatonator, but want to make sure it has enough extra volume for me. The Dom I have has 41.5 volume. How much more should I add for those small wave days?
  • Another size one, what size for a 2 year surfer, 180lbs, lazy

    Hi,

I started surfing on a 7'8" egg, then rode a 7'2" hot dog shape for a while.

    I'm 5'9" 175-185 lbs, (fatter in winter).

I've been demoing doms over the past few weeks. I know I want one, just trying to narrow down the size. I started on the 6'2" and was able to catch waves, but it wasn't super easy. Fairly easy to paddle, but not as easy as I would have hoped. The next time, I wanted the 6'4" but they didn't have it so I took out the 6'6". That felt too bulky and I dont' think I caught a wave at all, but it was a big day, and I'm a puss.

I'm thinking the 6'4" will be just right for me, easy to paddle and catch waves, and may even work when it gets a little bigger. Thoughts?

I can catch with the 6'2", I'm just not catching much and I feel like I'd do better with the 6'4". I'm not trying to go pro or anything, it's all about fun. What made me think I wanted this size was this video. The guy is 150 riding a 6'2", he says for the extra float, so if I'm lazy (and I am) I think a 6'4" would give me some extra float.
