hey guys...hope all you potato lovers are well. So i am 78kgs and i got the 5'10 sweet potato, reason being that i like surfing as much as possible BUT i mainly surf in the middle east...yes qatar and dubai! NOT famous places but we get a lot of little waves. Any STOKE time is fun with friends.
i find the 5'10 floaty sure, but i love catching loads of waves..if i lived where better waves were..then i would go smaller for sure. I do also have a 7'4 mini mal and a 6'3 aloha bean future flex which is my real wave board for traveling.
have a look at my little video made in the wave pool in UAE..im riding my potato for the first time ever, i tried 2 sets of fins- standard quad ones i got with the board and some controller quads.

    keep surfing, have fun

    hey all, im back :-)
so some of you will remember i was looking for a SP for my birthday (30th) i finally got one- see the link post at the bottom for the photo,
Any way..a little swell came to Dubai this week and it was time to try! im 6ft-80kg now due to a big fitness drive and feeling fit! the waves were soft, max waist high but they were pushing through so i had a go!
i got the 5'10 due to living in the middle east, soft easy waves. when i paddled out i found it really easy, it was fast and i was competing against every type of board above 7ft, even SUP's! i got loads of waves,
im not a great surfer but i can do the basics :-) after reading all the SP posts here i had in mind i needed to surf it from the back foot, this took a little getting used to but once i got it right i loved the way i could pump fast down the line- way faster than my BIC 6'7, usually my ride would have finished early due to speed or sinking on these small waves but i was able to run all the way till knee deep water :-)
im sure 5'10 will be too buoyant for most, but we have small waves without the power. i got loads of waves- all the set waves and people were all wanting to know about the board due to the size and my wave count :-D
no special fins- only the standard ones you get with it, a great board, loved it

hey bumper- thanks for the advice so far, i have looked at the addvance, but it starts in a 6'6... i was looking to try something smaller than my bic but with more volume.. so an idea- 6' 1" 22 3/4" 3" diamond 50.9 baked P?? surely 50ltr is loads? and a smaller board to make turns on? in the winter here in QATAR we get good storms where i can ride my bic, i just want a new board with more float to ride on the smaller days and hopefully improve.
i went to dubai this weekend to look at the dealer of firewire, i got to touch hold and check out both a sweet and baked but not the size i was looking for, it was only the bambo deck one...as i want the FST.
yeah i looked at a dom a few months ago, but at 6'2-4 and 40ltr a potato can beat this and be a little smaller. i have ridden 6ft-6'4 shortboards but just in bigger waves than what i get in qatar.

    thnaks for your input,

i would like the more performance potato, but its just the gamble...i live in a desert country. the idea is i take it in a double board bad with my bic to have best of both worlds!!

also i use the mini mal when glides more than does turns which i want to do more of!!

the roxy board was just a buy as i was passing a shop- no sizes..might even be a display piece but i ride it and its always fun.....but i just wish to turn quicker and improve! the mini mal feels like its more of a "set the rail" and trim the wave and ride like a mal??

    length: 7'3

It includes the treatments designed to facilitate the process of recovery from injury, illness or disease to as normal a condition as possible, The person may also gain self sufficiency during the process. Could you please produce some attachment links regarding the SP rehab center?

    Hellfire ! Yes !

Posted on here a few times now. Have a fuego and a futura. The futura is amazing. Took it in some good clean 4ft solid surf and it ripped. Had chance to pick up cheap hellfire so jumped at it. Took it out last week. Amazing! Was only pretty weak so i know it won't come alive till it gets bigger and more powerful, however I still found it to float and surf really well. Little more twitchy but I like that! Can't wait to get it in again.... Then took out my fuego.... Felt to big and buoyant!!! Think I bought too big, and all I want to grab us the hellfire!! However to change things up and. Compliment the quiver thinking selling fuego and buying a spitfire for the in between and general surf for 80percent time... What peoples thoughts? 5ft 8 spit my call... Just need to find one that I can afford!!

    5'4" or 5'6"

    Hey guys,

I'm thinking of getting myself a sweet potato. I am 33, 80kg and 187cm and my fitness levels are good. I currently have a 6'0" Hellfire which goes real nice on grunty 4 foot + waves. But i find that it a feels a little too big on smaller waves.
I've tried a 5'8" dom which was too small and a 5'10 dom which felt too big. I'm leaning towards a 5'4" potato. Does this sound about right?

I ride the el fuego all the time, and rarely use the futura!
just got tempted by the idea of the hellfire as a travel board to surf in better waves. i.e morocco/portugal.
however i also figure the futura would be okay for that to?

    i have a 6ft futura and was considering a 5ft 10 hellfire......satisfy board buying addiction.
Was just thinking that it might be a bit of a pointless purchase as have a futura in 6ft. It would be a similar volume to the hellfire and i figured would be similar board?
    any thoughts be appreciated.

If not hellfire purchase i am going to stump up for a fish tail for the other end of quiver!

It requires a little extra paddle power but is rad. I need to get it in some good waves to really feel it. Picked up a futura recently to, but not got it in water. Got avscottish Thurso trip soon so hoping both boards will handle some solid swells. What max size u think fuego will handle? Loving new range. Oh and can customs be ordered for uk yet? Just wondering if u could give me some nev wisdom on the fishes in the range. Also wondered about volume if going for a fish, I surf 5.9 fuego and am 161pounds. Would I be looking at similar volumes in a FireWire fish or would I need more? I like the look of the fish tail . I have seen a 5ft 10 but at 35 litres is that too much? Would I be looking at 5ft 8 or 5ft 6? Loved my surf tech and want a similar FireWire! Thanks in advance!! Any of your insight into the fish models be great to hear
  • firewire fish tail......size and volume

    Hi
I ride the 5.9 el fuego
if if was to replace an old fish (surf tech wave rocket) what size fish tail would you recommend?

I would have thought maybe the 5ft 8? the buyers guide suggests the 5ft 10.
I note the volume on the 5 ft 10 is 35litres. that seems a bit high - or is it better to have lots of vol for that board?
