Hi all,
Here is a small clip of a tiny surf session I had recently over the easter long weekend up at Sunshine beach, Noosa, Australia.
The waves were small & weak but the BP didn't mind that at all. Where most other guys in the line up were either on long boards or regular short boards, the BP gave them all a run for their money in the wave catching department.
In those conditions I would've normally taken out my SP, but since I sold it to get the BP, I'm glad that I did as I was able to manoeuvre the BP much better than I could on an SP.
Anyways, I love this board & hopefully this video might help some decisions for people who are thinking about getting a BP..enjoy & sorry about the average surfing.

501 Baked Potato Technograin is one sweet ride!
Hi guys,
Just a report on the performance of my new 5'1" Baked Potato Technograin.
Surfed it in 2-2.5ft waves, slightly onshore winds in the morning. Had FCS K2.1 quads set up. This board flies!
It paddles as good as the sweet potato but definitely has better response in the critical part of the wave by holding it's rail line in the face of the wave (not sliding out like the SP does).
Later in the afternoon, I surfed it in 2.5-3ft waves, light offshore winds. Added the FCS knubster to the quad set up to give me a bit more control through the tail. The boards rail to rail transition is so smooth. I was surprised at how hard you can drive off the bottom of the wave. It performs round house cutbacks like a breeze without losing any speed & no problems putting it up late into the lip of the wave.
The board is surprising light. I think it is lighter than the 5'0" sweet potato I once owned.
The board turns plenty of heads out in the line up (& on the land), mainly due to how amazing it looks with the Paulownia deck skin.
I know i'm going to have some great & memorable sessions on this board....Firewire, two thumbs-up!!! -
Deck Grip on Technograin Baked Potato?
Hi fellow firewire'ians,
Picking up my 501 Technograin Baked Potato tomorrow & I'm wondering whether to put a tail pad on it or not?
The board looks so sick with the wood grain, it would almost be a crime to cover it but I don't want to damage the deck with my knee when I duck dive.
Apart from the aesthetic look, I'm wondering if the adhesive of the deck grip will damage the Paulownia deck? -
5'4" Potatonator reo sequence
Attachment
This was taken on a pretty small day up on the mid north coast of australia. The waves had no power & were running pretty fast across the bank before it hit the shore break.
5'4" Potatonator's volume seemed the best board for the quick take-off & drive across the gutless wave.

Megsy's Hellfire in Maldives
Hey guys,
I've been here in the Maldives for the past 8 days & during that timeI've surfed 6-8ft perfect Cokes right down to 2-3ft not so perfect cokes. I'm down at Kandooma (southern atoll 35kms from Male) for the next 3 days before heading home to Sydney, Australia. The wind is playing havoc with the waves at the moment so just waiting for those moments when it glasses off during the afternoon.
Here's a couple of pics of my 5'8" hellfire going through it's paces.
Hope you like!!!

Potatonator (& friends) in the Maldives
Hi Guys,
I'm only a couple of hours away from landing in the Maldives.
I have a few friends with me; my 504 Potatonator; 505 El Fuego & 508 Hellfire (the same one in my hellfire video).
With the swell charts predicting 3-4ft for both Saturday & Sunday, it should be a good to test out the boards in prime conditions.
Stay tuned as I have my Gopro on hand & my beautiful girlfriend behind the lens on land. -
5'8" Hellfire Video
Ok guys, here is a short clip of my 5'8" Hellfire going through it's paces. I'm just an average surfer (as you'll see) but I hope you like the way the Hellfire surfs.

Compare Two Boards Not Working?
Is there a problem with trying to compare two firewire models now?
It seems to only load three boards in total out of the whole range & sizes? -

MB or Taj?
Hi guys,
Looking to complete my quiver of Firewire boards.
Currently have:
500 Sweet Potato
502 Sweet Potato (still trying to decide which of the two sweet potato's to keep)
505 El Fuego
508 Hellfire
As you can see, I don't have a standard short board.
I'm heading over to the Maldives in August & feel that I should have a board for waves in case they get over head high.
Which model is better for paddling, MB or Taj?
I consider my surfing abilities to be in the intermediate range (I can pretty much do everything except airs for the moment).
I'm 5'9" 175cm & weigh 70 kgs 153 lbs
Size suggestions for either models as my regular short board?
Cheers
Megsy
