Thanks Chris. As I stated in my earlier posts...I'm coming down from riding 9' longboards for the past 23 years..I hope the 7'0" Hellfire isn't too much board. I've only ridden it twice..both pretty crappy conditions..I had fun but it was like learning to shortboard all over again!! Riding longboards all these years makes you lazy getting to your feet and pumping a board down the line..I've been cruising and styling too much...I need to get back to my old "radical" self from 30 years ago and start slashing again!!! lol

I pretty much only rode this board as a thruster, but was very surprised on how well it worked as a quad!! It really depends on the type of wave IMHO. Bowly waves tend to favor three fins and walled up down the line waves tend to favor the quad setup. But no matter what setup, get some good fins. Check out futures web site and they can steer you in the right direction. have fun!!!
Yeah, I figured I'd have to upgrade the fins..I was looking at your screen name "hanaleisurfer". I was in Hawaii way back in 1988. I bought a Dennis Pang gun from Sand Peoples Surf Shop at Hanalei Bay. I still have the board and it's in pristine condition!! It sits on display in my den!!

The board hasn't seen water since "The Perfect Storm" swell of 1991 (If I remember correctly)..I surfed Ft Pierce's outer reef at 10'+ faces all day long on that Dennis Pang 6'6" gun. The board rode great and now sits in my den as "art work". It's hot pink and florecent green with glassed in fins..I'll have to post a photo. I surfed hawaii back in 1988..started at Oahu's south shores's #3's, Kaisers & Diamond Head...then surfed Maui's Lahaina boat harbor and a few "secret" spots, flew over to Kauai and surfed Poipu, Acid Drops and the Bay..would love to get back before I get too old to handle the power!! I'm off this weekend was hoping to get some water time on the Hellfire but the surf has dropped to a weak knee to thigh high...I think I'll drag my Hellfire to Costa Rica next year..
