    Lightbulb Lost F1 fin selection

    gday all

    just bought 6'3 x 19 Lost F1 - am 6' tall and weigh 82kg - any pointers from those who have surfed the F1 on best fin choice [FCS plugs] ?

    because that board has i really pulled in rounded squash tail in the last 2 inches, you need fins with more sweep, as this board pivots on a dime.
    its a rel hp shorty that paddles into waves so easy, getting your foot placement right is the key difference to this board performing magic or tragic.
    I found the AM-2 for the 2-4 foot range and the G-AM for bigger waves.

    Ive been riding the PC GMB-5's in my Taj & F1 and sub-scorcher & I think it's pretty much the best all around fin for a large surfer.

    I havent had any of the issues with my F1. You definitely have to choose a good line off the start with more of a fade, b/c the pulled in roundness of the tail fits better in the hook than the flats and will bog a little if you're out of the pocket.

    It posted before I finished.

    My Taj board likes to take off late and haul ass and goes straight to the top but is harder to control when you're tryin to take off under the lip where Ive found the F1 to hold a little better.

    For bigger hollower surf the K2.1's work well. For average surf I like the GMB's. Took the board to Fiji and found that for average Cloudbreak AM2's were the call.

    yeah its funny how much preferences vary in respect to fins.
