    Firewire Name and Logo?

Ok, so here's a geeky question... while waiting for a set to come through, I was daydreaming and started wondering what the Firewire logo represents and where the Firewire name came from? Any story/meaning behind the name?

It is an odd name, might as well have called it USB Surfboards.

5.11 El Fuego - Oh ok, just one more.

I'm guessing the name stems from the company's use of CAD/CNC and the high-tech construction, so they gave the brand a techy name (which was associated with speed)??

What's the logo supposed to be? A boomerang... Aussie origins?

Asked a looong time ago... and still waiting for a straight answer although I believe it has to do with the fact that the board are enginnered, designed and shaped using computer interface. The logo...well that still escapes my imagination

Clearly Aurf you need to come to Australia and acquaint yourself far better with us than what you've demonstrated so far. For a start, no one here names their child Randolph!
