BP in Knee to Waist + Mush

I surf in New England and more often then not i'm surfing in Knee to Waist + Mush. Looking for a board for the majority of days out here where you need to get across flat sections and create drive in weak waves. Does the BP fit the bill? I'm not into riding my longboard any more and I feel that my spitty works better in larger cleaner more powerful surf. For instance on a shoulder high day with onshore winds where you want to get on the wave early will the BP make it happen?

i'm 5'11" 170lbs wear a wetsuit year round and are probaly on the low end of intermediate skil wise. I can make it down the line, put together some turns now and then. Recently i've been struggling and surfing like $hit! It's frustrating. Was thinking of a 5'7" for paddling power and extra help in small waves

5'5 baked or 5'4 sweet i'd say. if you go too big they get a little clumsy to ride.
