hey krum, GOOD question. I ride both, but find myself getting FST a lot for the durability and I actually like the flex and weight a lot. FST is a touch heavier and I really like the way it slices and dices. The dominator might a be a good board to try FST in because you are going to ride it a LOT!!!

Thanks for all the info guys... I have the board now... a 6'10" Dominator Rapidfire born 1/13/12 at 0945.

I'm gonna ride this for a while and start looking into a Hellfire.... Thanks again!

_MG_6628.jpgI think you can go with the 6 8 Dom. You could probably push it with a 6 6. Im in my mid 40's and only surf 2 or 3 times a week, so I like a touch more volume. I'm 215, probably could have got the 6 2 Dom but ended up with a 6 4 Dom. Dont regret that decision, the 6 4 Dom is a great board!!!

Fritz, thats my 6 4 RF DOM at Punta Mango in El Salvador. The Dom was working good, but it was during these sessions that I realized that a more pulled in board like a Hellfire would be optimal!! Came home from this surf trip and grabbed me a Hellfire. Now I'm frothing about the Hellrazer or even the Michel Bourez model???

nice shot hanalei. wave looks like a dreamy one for a hybrid.

the hell razor looks great. I tried it as a diamond and found it to be about as high-performance as a hybrid can be without being a shortboard. I have to say, the funny thing is, these hybrids are boasting a touch of extra volume, a little less rocker out the tail but still a bit of flip in the nose, some extra width but not a ton of thickness. as a result its a board that is easy to use in small stuff, but one that handles its own in solid over head. where the dom and spit get skatey in big surf, the hellfire and hellrazor excel.

Have been looking at an Addvance as a small wave/ higher wave count board but thread advise has been that even the 6'6 at my weight (72kgs) and coming off a 7' x 20 1/2 x 2 1/2 would be too much board...
Any thoughts on the ideal Dominator option ? ( mid 40's / 30 years exp / ride once or twice a week)
