Yeah, I have surfed a 5'0" but it was 6-8 inches too small. It rode really well and I was pretty stoked on it. Maybe Ill pick up a sweet potato.

Well I remember I had previously a 5'6" pottaoto and swithched it for a 5'2"... felt too corky. Fast as hell but very corky on the turns. Now I'm pretty happy with the 5'2".
If you like the 5'6" version, you might want to take into consideration the Baked potato since, for the looks of it, would be a bit more responsive and could draw tighter arcs than the swwet version

Yeah, that is what I was thinking. I do not have the money right now, but will in a couple months. I am 6'3" 185, so that is also something to consider. I love my DOM at 6'2" so that is probably what I am going to go for float wise as it paddles and surfs perfect for me.

All right, nobody knows you better that your own self!!.
All I can say is that the potato will increase your surf count and will put a big smile on your face on those days where you would have taken a longboard or an SUP

Can't wait for that as my DOM has pretty much been the board of choice for the last couple of months. I can't believe that my wave count would go up even higher. I surfed my DOM yesterday and pretty much had any wave I wanted as the guys who had too short of boards could not catch the outside sets. Amazing board! Thank you Nev, you are a genius!

yeah the potato will just give you that same wave-catching ability on the smaller days!

Just came back from a deceiving swell at the East Coast USA.Forecast (Tragic Sea Weed) called for 9ft 10sec swell and what we got was probably 6' with a period that ranged from 4sec in the morning to 10sec in the aft.
Went out first with my hellfire 6'0" and I was having some trouble finding the waves. Lots f duck diving and quite some ice cream headaches (-6C). Finally decided to change strategies and took the potato 5'2"... what a blast I had in the afternoon sesh!!!. Caught a bunch of head high waves on it and he board just flew!!. Doring the turns I would have wished to have had a bit less tail a few times but still. Waves were big full and mushy with some steep ones from time to time. Was site surprised how it hadled them

Sat and Sun were The days. I heard that the River Mouth was Epic as well as short Sands.
We drove on Frid morning after getting my shift covered.Left here at 3am, got to Long Sands at around 9am. First sesh until 12 (pretty frustrating since it was quite choppy). Went to the hotel, slept for a few hours, next sesh from 2-5pm... nice cleaner lines but quite chilly (-7C). Back to the hotel, slept 3 more hours, depart to Montreal. Caught a snowstorm on the way back so it took us an extra hour to et here. Road was pretty sketchy. Arived here, slept a few hours and a 13hrs shift!!!;)
The potato was a total blast. Brought my hellfire as well but it stayed in the car. Took the potato for a test ride and...
