I am also trying to decide between a HR and HF. I ride my 6'0 dom at a mythical place called North Beach here on Oahu. I have surfed easy 3 foot overhead with it as a quad set up and it has performed every time. I was riding med Rusty for fins till I broke a rear quad at bowls. I replaced the rears with AM2's and badda bing badda boom, the dom is magic in great surf. Perhaps, I may go with the Activator. Unsure...any ideas?

sharksurfa,I just got the 6-3 Activator this month and I still have the 6-4 Dom and a 6-4 Hellfire.
I surf the Activator more than the others. Although when it gets perfect with barrels down the line I would prefer the Hell Fire.
Activator turns tighter than the Dom and has better release on cutbacks.
That being said. I live on the Big Island and its a different reef than Oahu's magic 8 miles on the north shore. If I were there on Oahu, I would use the Dominator mostly at soft Kammies, Weak Town and West side surf, Hellfire for Lanikea, Pupukea and Rockies. Activator for conditions between the two and Town/ East side-goat Island.

Fins::: Futures AM-2 fronts (4.79"), V2F4 quad rears (3.75") Rusty quad rears (3.85") Stamps quad rears (4.0")
I like my Activator in solid stuff it has more release then my old Dom I am finding it needs the front foot drive to power down the line the draw back to make extremely tight cut backs. It's an easy board to surf in lots conditions similar to Dom but better.
good stuff sea bass. I will also add that I find the activator works well with a more traditional thruster fin, such as a PC5 or a EA than the Dom because of the reduced tail area and slightly longer rail.
In my dom I almost always ride short, upright fins but I have had fun on the activator with fins that would never make their way into my dominator...
Cheers
