how much of difference would that 6'6 feel compared to the 6'4? could it possibly feel like a boat to someone at 195lbs... i don't want to go too big or too small.. is two inches up really going to be that noticeable for a low intermediate? he gets up and and ride both ways halfway decent so he's not quite a beginner but not intermediate yet either. we also wear rubber most of the year here too..
    tough decision

Any way of holding both and feeling the difference? It's hard to pick one without feeling the other sometimes!

fair point. i think the 6'4" would be plenty, but it's hard to call it. 6'6" will be pretty big but it's going to make things easier for him.

i'm actually leaning towards the 6'6.. his wave count will go way up which like chris said will help him progress quicker.. he cruises more then anything anyways.. i don't want to under volume him and be dealing with what he's dealing with now with his current board..
