I second to adding mayhem shapes to the CBD program. I asked Matt on his blog to check it out and hit up Nev while he's down under at the quikie pro. He said he didn't know much about it but he'll check it out.
Fingers crossed, how good would it be to tweak the current lost lineup or even better, that mutated whiplash that taj is currently riding.

We are looking into having Nev do some live webinars on design and CBD in the near future, may become a regular occurence if seems valuable. Also look for videos to be posted soon in the CBD area of the FW website by Nev on the topic.

I recently spent two weeks with Firewire's master CAM dude (Computer Aided Manufacturing). We worked on making multiple steps involved in the precision machining of FW boards more efficient. This guy is sharp! ambitious, and always striving to improve the processes. He is making massive progress, and this may lead to FW offering CBD's in other construction types down the road

Another FW R&D decision to be made!

After test driving a Direct Drive model I couldn't believe how good it felt under the feet
Obviously the shape had a lot to do with it as well but that feeling of liveliness was amazing
Hopefully this construction gets incorporated in a few other models including the CBD program

Is there any possibility to have the board's volume update, just like the width and thickness does. that way we don't have to generate the file and wait in the queue, only to find out the volume doesn't match up and have to start over again?

Another idea could be to have the volume you are after as a starting point. eg enter your volume : 30L
Maybe even enter the type of conditions the board will be used for eg hollow, beach break, or allround etc.
then you select your model and board size eg flexfire 6'2
and based on your volume and conditions the board is for, the adjustments to width, nose, tail and thickness would be auto adjusted to give a good starting point, and then we could tweek it ourselves from there.

just a few ideas.

The PDF has to be created to get the volumes as its creating the full CAD file for the board which gives it those measurements. The image in the program is just a 2D representation and until the file in generated it doesn't know what the volume will be.
