Late to the convo but it seemed to have morphed to P-Nator talk?

At any rate, this board (EF) absolutely kill(Z) with the KS 2.1 Quad set + Nubster.

Wow, sooo much speed and very maneuverable. I have the diamond tail.

5.10 Futura - What else do I need?
5.5 Baked Potato - Well ok, I need this.
5.11 El Fuego - Oh ok, just one more.

I also have the diamond tail and will need to check this out as I am on a fin mission with my quiver.

The KS 2.1 fins seem like they would be too much fin for that board? How does that compare to the MRTX fins with the small trailer fin?

Let me know what else you have tired in your EF.

Thats pretty much it. I may do her as a quad later but stoked over the current setup. I do have MRTFX on my SP and they worked really well on my Futura.

Riding a 5'6 Hellfiire and the volume feels really good. I am considering getting a 5'5 El Fuego for smaller days.
Is it recommended to stay with a similar volume even though one is going to be much more of a groveler? My Hellfire has 24.5L, the El Fuego has 24.8L.
Also, what Futures fins are people liking on the El Fuego?

I have heard good things about the H-3 Nexus fins...what is comparable for Futures?

Other boards I was considering would be Activator or Jacknife. Want something for knee to waist high+ waves that is fast and manueverable.
Feedback from all is appreciated! Thanks.

Knee to waist high is full on El Fuego territory. I love mine in anything up to head and a half, depending on how steep it gets. I do find that I notice the higher volume when the waves get bigger though. Harder to really bury the rail, although I think some of that might be taken care of by switching to a thruster setup. If you are looking for a groveller, more volume will not hurt you. FCS Nexus H3s are all I run.

If the volume of the El Fuego is virtually identitcal to my Hellfire but it's displaced differently and is a flatter board with less rocker it should get into smaller, less powerful waves easier than the Hellfire. Shouldn't it?
Normally I run FCS but the board I have an opportunity to buy is Futures.
Does any one know a Futures fin that is similar to the H3 Nexus?
I just spoke with Futures and the guy said maybe the WCT Honeycomb would be similar. Otherwise from looking at the site it looks like the BlackStix VII F4 sounds like it may also be a good fin. Not familiar with Futures so any help is appreciated.

I currently ride a 5ft 11 el fuego which I love. I'm off to Morocco for some serious winter point breaks. I have ridden it with the standard fcs quad fins and with GAM 's but when the surf gets to double overhead the bottom turns can get a little sketchy. Can any one suggest a fin setup that would help with the bigger waves. I don't really want to take another board.

I'd go K3s at the front and some PC quad rears. The stiffer materials will be better in the bigger stuff. You'll want a raked fin like the K3 or Simon Anderson set, not necessarily a large fin.

I surf my fuego with the K3s they suit the board very well in the solid stuff Moroccan points included, I will be taking this board down to Morocco this winter as it is a proven performer along with a Stealth which I took last last time .H3s great fins aswell .

Did you surf it as a thruster? Interested in the differences between the thruster and the quad set-up. I have mine with the MRTX fins in it with the small trailer fins. What a great board!!!
