My routine is keep boards in board bags, avoid bumping on hard surfaces, keep waxed side consistent in board bag, take to beach in car unless it's a long trip with wife and child and other holiday baggage in which case it goes on the roof still in board bag, don't do reos onto the sand, rinse off after a surf and straight back in board bag, let kooks who are dropping in and obviously going straight or other feets of kookdom have the wave - no point being in the right and having said drop in kook ding your favourite board,don't leave in car in sun for extended periods. That's about it.

I'm the same buzzy but no bag or wife or kid.
add " dont let drunk friends molest your board" they love to try and pinch their fingers into the boards flesh to see if the rails are soft while the tails is on the ground grinding in the sand and rocks.

Is it better to have your board in a sock? or a bag? Just curious as I wonder if the breath ability of a sock is better. Not sure.

I don't use either unless I'm getting on a plane or I had to strap onto a car roof. The joys of not having to worry about denting boards just by looking at them anymore!

If I was somewhere sunny I'd probably use a sock to keep it whiter for longer but it's not so much of an issue here. I usually keep my boards in my travel bag stored away unless the waves are up and then they'll will just be stood up in the corner ready to slip in the car.

I use a sock mainly cause mine go on the roof racks & every time I buy a bag the bloody zipper rusts up or cacks itself after a few months!
