Core, how do you like the SA4 fins compared with the SA3's? Should I just get the quad set and add a cheap fiberglass back fin for a 5 fin set-up. I am going to try the thruster set-up as the AM2 set up is just too big.Originally Posted by core personal training

The SA large fins are just that.
Large. Don't expect too much improvement in playfulness in the SA4s....

Well that just saved me 100-. Looking to loosen up the Hellfire for when it is a little smaller, any suggestions?

Rusty 5 fin has good flex and will loosen everything up on other boards. Anyways, I favor the AM-2's tri set up on the HELL FIRE, I dont want it looser , I only take out the Hell fire on head high plus days that have energy. I am waiting for the Activator (to arrive FEDEX) to fill in that smaller hollow wave niche the dominator cant pull off as tight. Dominator reserved as my GO-TO groveler.

in regards to the 510.... am2s stiffen it as they have that sweep...sa3's make it as loose as any normal shortboard with ea's or jc's for example...any looser and i'd lose control...it already can turn itself inside out in pockets...the increased area just balances the increased tail area...they also along with the hellfire's rail can drive any section needed....going to a swept fin just hampers the shape of the board...dropping to a normal shortboard fin just underpowers the board..(at 90kg anyway)....sa4's are fast and loose and blow out of the lip like crazy....(forehand..hate four on backhand).....on longer hellfires (more rail) this all might change..............??....
