How would you compare it with your flexfire and Alternator
Is there any particular wave you wouldn't hesitate to grab it
From your review it sounds like clean and bowly
    How fast is each board
At the moment I'm liking the fast and whippy characteristics of my flexfire
Always keen for a backup HP though
The thick version didn't happen for me so as yet haven't ruled out the thin version

no such thing as too many questions..!!..

yep, chest high and over bowls...backhand particularly where i can be more aggressive...

all fast in different situations...snagged a freight train slightly o'head right on the MB that went forever..sheet glass..top to bottom evenly folding lip..loooong n faaaast.(think jbay speed)..got in a rhythm of identical hard short bottom turns compressing legs and the boards flex then throwing it down the line pushing similarly through top arcs..nuthin but distance..!!..lip just clipping me the whole way...as fast as ive ever gone..that includes compression spits on guns..(when young and brave/stoopid)..and it was sustained through the whole ride..

the MB and alt have similar benefits..(widths, longer wetted rail line, thicker foil etc)..should ride both a touch shorter than your norm..(i ride my alt oversized for bad back days)..MB for curvy faces, alt for slopey....

flexy is your standard (and by that i mean full tilt) HP shooter..fast, twitchy-ish and will score points in pretty much everything...heavier guys can use the slightly beefed up 6'2 at 18 3/4 x 2 1/2 to great effect in 2 foot semi-slop up to scary..(i dont do scary anymore)..but light weights like Nev at 70 kg rip on it too..

keep the questions coming guys, thats what the forum is for..!!

Time for a another question ha ha
Was riding a friends board with similar volume to mine (Hayden Shapes Blak Cat) and the rocker was somewhat banana ish
I noticed it was significantly slower on the wave face and also slower to paddle
This was all compared to my flexfire
Did you have somewhat of a similar experience with your boards particularly the MB
From the sounds of things you have the MB on a string
The experience has really opened my eyes to rocker designs especially those boards with a severe kick in the tail
Thanks for the photos as well

this is over simplifying things, and other factors come in like concaves for example, but, the more rocker curve, the more it is pushing/plowing water in front of it...this is resistance...paddle difficulty is mainly from the entry rocker...when up and riding, all parts of the rocker can affect your glide depending on the wave shape and how your weighting the board...heavy rockers will still fly, but you have to drive them...on a flat rocker, you can stand still and slide along as the water is not trying to push its way around a curve...you dont have to pump it or jump up and down...(the Huntington hop)..

    heres three i prepared earlier...6'4 alt, 6'6 x 19 x 2 1/2 semi-banana and 5'10 HF...average, extreme and mild entry rockers respectively...

the 6'6 doesn't paddle as hard as it looks like it would...its deceiving...coming back to our senses after the slater/herring/Merrick/Webber rocker wars, rockers got interesting...they became multi-staged..(or maybe they were before?.. Nev will know better than me)...this has extreme flip for late drops, then backs off a bit further down the entry into a flatter section (but still curvy) for paddling, then holds this until at the front fins it flips heavily (looks broken and bent at first glance) and thins out dramatically..(this is taj's tail but 15 years earlier)...

Yeah I find my CBD paddles really well considering the rocker. Maybe not super fast on the flats but it gets into waves easy and usually only with a couple of strokes.

Core, your posts are legend dude. just come off another thread , been mulling over a ALT vs MB model. always worried about volume, since i to am slightly on the heavier side, 80-82kgs 6ft and i surf with 3/4 plus extras down here in Cape Town. it looks like the thicker 6" MB model will be perfect for what i want to and waves i want to target!

yeah just caught your other posts earlier...if your legs push it hard you will love that mb....i'm thinking of getting the 6'0 (which is what i should be on anyway) now as i have dropped back to 90kg (even 88 some days) and am now back in a springy or shorts...the last couple of surfs in juice i have had trouble dominating the foam on the 6'2 thin..if i shorten things a bit it should click for me again...or do i get a razor...and do i get the 6'3 or 6'1...or do i replace my broken flexy..... hhmmmm

if you dont have a fin in mind, then depending how hard you push, start with the jc or ea templates in blackstix (softer flex) or honeycomb if you put the boot in...

choices choices bru. my ideal scenario is that i get the MB this year - ride it a bit in summer waves to get a feel then when
winter comes i`ll have it dialled in....hopefully. following that i`ll go into the more hybrid "fun boards" like the hellfire - although by some of your other posts that sounds insane as well! i have also recently been going over the Futures was looking at the JC looks like a great template as i am not yet a fins free kinda surfer but i do like to put it on the rail.
