it was a week or something old, but had been posted in today. in my profile section it says chris posted a response but when i click to go to the thread the page is blank.
It was in the repairs section, looks like only the general section has been transferred over so far?
Hey Justin! This is like a Facebook Firewire. Firewire Facebook. Firebook. Facewire. FaceFire... Hehe. At least the sign-in was.
Signatures... Yay!!!

Good to see FW has a continuous improvement approach. Questions - how do I access discussions that I have bveen following i.e. Deviant Fin? Do the categories still exist eg AddVance which I follow?. Thanks
the deviant fin is under "technology"
http://www.firewiresurfboards.com/forum.php#/discussion/242/the-deviant-fin/
everything should still exist ... just moved around ... trying looking in categories in the right side column ... sorry for the confusion
I can see only two categories on the right hand side - All Discussions and General. J
Sweet as - works fine now thanks.
hey justin....no link back to the website home page etc like old forum...handy for cross-referencing and so on...or maybe its just not showing on my laptop...running firefox...
dave
also, maybe a way to have out vital statistics on our profile instead of a sig, so not to clutter threads...
and are we limited to "bold, italic and header" when coding??
wannabe geek dave
good stuff!!!
only one problem I've found and that is I can't view the forums on my iphone (so much easier than turning on the computer). Well, I can read about 3-4 posts on each thread but can't go between pages, or sc
I like everything about the new forum, but I don't like that you cannot automatically see the pictures. You have to click on the link to open the picture. I liked it better when you would open the discussion and there would be a BIG OL' picture of Nev doing some crazy sh@t and/or a picture of Iggy riding his board in the snow somewhere. That is my one and only complaint. Maybe it is my computer though. Is this going to be the norm?
Corepersonaltraining:
to access the forum within the structure of the Firewire website go here:
http://www.firewiresurfboards.com/forum.php
i'll look into options for better displaying personal info ... but for now, the sig area will work

email notification links are still a little screwy ... i'm working on resolving that
Ox ... i'm in complete agreement with you ... i can't stand the fact that the pictures aren't immediately viewable ... that's something i'm actively working on
thanks all for the input
thanks justin....
and ox..i thought pics were reduced so people didn't have to see me in a bikini..!!..
Ox-
i've been talking with the forum software devs and they clued me in to making images appear inline ... when you click "attach a file", "select file" and after it uploads .. there's an "INSERT IMAGE" button ... if you click that it will insert the image inline ... like so

Also if you have the image on facebook or photobucket or flickr etc you can just put the link inside the [IMG] and [/ IMG] tags
I've got a lot if posts saying November 2009 Justin.
Does the clock need tweaking or is it something I need to do in my profile?
I have clicked on the star and commented on a number of posts, but I never receive email notifications anymore. When I come to the forum home page, I do have a red indication sign over my inbox tab, but that is as far as it goes at notifying me.
Finally!!!!! I'm back muhahahahaha. Solved my problem by login on my PC through the option of loging in for mobile devices, this solved the issue for me.
Why did you guys decided to change the forum "format"???.
Iggy, we changed the format because a newer "better" version of the forum software was released ... it's worth staying up to date on software releases like that as they are usually plug security holes and offer better features. however, as is obvious, things aren't always perfect. all in all, i think this forum is superior to what we had. i'm still learning how certain things work, such as the notifications issue ... which i've been trying to track down.
hey justin, bit of a small thing but worth mentioning, i've got a yellow unread symbol next to the sweet potato thread even though i've checked it a few times to try and get rid of it. not sure why that's happening.

The unsung heroes. Thanks, Justin, for trying to make the forum a more user friendly place. Just a quick note, I sometimes have a issues while writing in the comment box. The page will freeze up on me while I write in a comment or if I try to go back and edit a specific comment it won't let me. Not everytime, but more times than not. I thought it might be my computer, but it happens on my PC, my laptop, and other people's computers too. All with the same outcome.
It seems like there's an auto save while you're typing a reply Ox, maybe it's that.
I don't mean the follow star Justin, just the '1 New' bit next to an unread topic. As I said it's not a big deal. Keep up the good work!
