Lads , today I was privledged to rub my hands all over a Potatonator and I am FROTHING. This is a sweet, sweet board. I wont say where I saw it or who showed me the board but I was stoked and have been told I can demo it some time this week if we get waves. The guy who has it wont take a deposit off me just yet as he doesnt know when it will be available but I will be the first to order one when it arrives. I will report back when I have ridden it.

Oh trust me I know all of that but.... I will wait for Chris or someone from FW to confirm they are cool with  me talking about it or if I should keep that under my hat. I honestly don't know what stage it is at....just to be sure.

Is this because every shaper will jump on the bandwagon and release the shape before FireWire does

Who knows. I don't think there's a danger of people replicating a shape off one photo. I guess it's good to have us all salivating over what these new models are going to be. Plenty of 'buzz'!

Trust me gents this is nothing to do with us (boardshop) our lips are firmly sealed.

As you can imagine you will NOT be disappointed and we will be taking pre-orders as soon as the boards are launched.

Until then does anyone else agree that the El Fuego is the best board ever made? Been lucky enough to surf every shape and keep coming back to my old Firefly branded swallow tail (now the Fuego).

    Cheers!

The El Fuego is one of the few that I haven't ridden yet. I like the look of them though. They look like they were made for down the line UK beachies!

Every one has an opinion, they are like a#$holes and elbows.

But the name Potatonator sounds really silly and will seem to have some over lap with the SP.

I think it would be ballistic to design a board with channels starting at the bottom of the board and exiting the top or sides.

I think CI was messing around with this but it follows the concept of Chi Chong Tai Chi.

Anyways, I'm sure you are rolling your eyes here.

I think the name comes from it being a blend of the Sweet Potato and the Dominator.

Ive been surfing my 5'4 Sweet Potato at my break for a month or two and you tell people what its called, and you get a double take and some sniggering, what the f... - now I know you have had problems in the past with using names that other companies already have taken for there own,,, firefly for instance - so i guess you are going to extremes here not to make the same mistake,

New models coming for March 2012 include the Potatonator which is a cross between the sweet potato and dominator and this is one surfboard we are very excited about. We also have the Hellraiser coming which were sure will be popular and also a Bourez Pro model coming into stock. Watchout, but as ever we'll have it instore and online first.

The El Fuego is one of the best surfboards I've ever owned. Top 3 for sure. I like when I hear others talking good stuff about it because I think it gets overlooked by a lot of the other models.

LAME!!! If you have seen a double secret board (we all want details on) & want to help Firewire keep in on the low down; that's cool, but keep your yap shut.

But you can't say you've seen it, touched it, and how great it is, but then give zero details....LLLAAAMMMEEE!!!!

Chris, you could at least give us a list of the 2012 boards (including new Lost models). We're going to have Christmas Card money soon, and we may just waste it on an Alternator because we don't what's in the pipe.

    ps- LAME!

Ha! Good point but it's so easy to misread the tone of random posts you have to use ridiculous words to make sure it's clear to everyone you're joking.

And for the record you used "frothing", "sweet, sweet" and "stoked" in your original post.....all pretty lame for a 40yr old :)
