Hey, i been on a roadtrip the last week and havent score any surf, but yesterday when the surf was up I took my hellfire out of the bag and notice a big egg bubble on both sides of the nose. This sucks, because i was gonna trade it in today for a hf 5'6, but now it has to be fixed...

Question is; Have do I take care of my firewire surfboard on roadtrips, when i live in the car :) ??
btw am in new zealand and still got 3 week here before leaving to bali.

    cheers

    jake

Sounds like things got a bit hot in the car. All EPS boards need to avoid high temps because there's a lot of air within the foam, hence the light weight.
Staying in the shade and keeping windows open helps.
Also keeping out of the bag in the car helps. The bag can hear up like an oven.

PRJ you obviously haven't been to NEW ZEALAND ... lol it never gets hot enough in NZ for heat to be an issue .. even in a car . I would say it's some other factor .. maybe the lam hasn't bonded

ha nah i haven't, been around the SE coast of Aus, that's as close as I got. I think NZ has a similar climate to here in the UK though, and on a sunny day with the windows up parked in direct sunlight a car gets pretty damn hot!

You can get lockable roof tie downs. You can then leave the board on the roof on a hot day without worrying the board will disappear any minute.

    ohh mann sounds amazing.

so big delams tend to come from high heat and/or extended direct sunlight.  has your board been on the roof outside of a bag for a long time?
