THE FUTURE OF SHAPE

Firewire continues to re-define the ‘FUTURE OF SHAPE’. Whether you prefer the WCT proven Future Shapes Technology (FST), RapidFIRE (RF) bamboo and carbon rod hybrids, or our latest Crossfire Technology which combines bamboo deck skins with Balsa rails, Firewire remains dedicated to pushing the boundaries of surfboard design AND materials.

Through our total commitment to epoxy resins and EPS interior foam, Firewire continues to explore ever more environmentally friendly raw materials and construction methods. For example, RapidFIRE replaces the aerospace composite skin of FST with bamboo grown in sustainable plantations.

Over a 5–year lifespan, a traditional polyurethane surfboard releases 50 times more volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) than a Firewire surfboard. That’s because our materials are exponentially less harmful than traditional PU materials. As a result, Firewire Surfboards won the 2005 EuroSIMA Environmental Product of the Year Award.

The 2011 Firewire quiver expands on our strong offering for 2010, including the new CROSSFIRE technology as well as the HELLFIRE, SWEET POTATO and GROMFLEX models. We’ve added the Kolohe Andino SUB-Scorcher model to the LOST Series, as well as our most recent collaboration with Arbor featuring tinted wood deck skins and graphic art from some of their best artistic collaborations.

Perhaps most importantly, we’ve launched CBD – Custom Board Design, an online application that allows you to adjust the dimensions on our most popular models to suit your individual preferences. The software adjusts in real time and generates a 3D model of your custom board, complete with your custom volume! Check it out in the Quiver section on our website.

Whatever your preference, we’re confident there is a Firewire model that is right for you.
