FIREWIRE TO CEASE DELIVERING FINS WITH BOARDS
We're constantly striving to improve the performance of our surfboards and the quality of our business practices. With this in mind we're going to take the unprecedented step of delivering our boards without fins. We realize this is a radical departure from the traditional way boards are sold, but we firmly believe it is in the best interests of customers and the planet! ... We believe that the positive environmental impact of not forcing surfers to purchase fins they may not need and thereby reducing waste is important ... Furthermore this will lower the cost if a surfer chooses to buy a board without fins. Another benefit is increased fin selection and price point, as surfers are not tied to one fin or price point.

Tips from Munga
Firewire’s give you 10kg & 10 years less than you what you feel. You will feel some great glimpses of Firewire performance in your first surf. But just like surfing a new surfboard, you will have to find your feet to get the feel for it. It will not be until the 5th or 6th surf that you will really open up the full potential of what the Firewire surfboard can offer.
Really twist your body from the bottom turn, as this will load the board up to spring back on the turns, maximising the characteristic of the Firewire surfboard.
Draw your buttom turns harder than you think and hit the lip as hard as you can.

Firewire Australia updates
Since opening to the Australian market in June 2007, FIREWIRE has made a significant impression on the surfing industry and won many awards along the way.
Our extensive retail distribution now includes Queensland, New South Wales (country and metropolitan), Victoria, Western Australia, South Australia and Tasmania, with further expansion into New Zealand with FIREWIRE surfboards available at Backdoor Surf Snow Earth (Hamilton, Mt Wellington & Takapuna) and Quiver (Mt Maunganui). But we’re not stopping there so stay tuned as further expansions are to come.
The much anticipated release of the Taj Pro Model, designed according to Taj’s specifications, is expected to be available from mid January 2008. At this time, our range of FlexFlight surfboards (FIREWIRE longboards) will be enhanced with the introduction of a high performance hybrid – the FlexFlight 7’6 model.
