    felix,

i was wondering if the kiteboards are stronger than the normal surfboards?
i was looking to buy a firewire quadfish mainly surfing but also lightwind kiting in the small surf...is this a strong or strong enough? I have broken 4 polyester boards in 2 months right above the fin boxes from hitting the waves and want something that will last

    cheers,

    kitesrf,

They are stronger boards and the lightest boards you will ride, especially comparing to PU boards. I have put these boards to the test in pretty heavy conditions from Santa Cruz to San Diego in waist high surf to double overhead. The deck is amazing, no pressure dings yet even. I ride hard and only strapless as well.

Like any board, the right hit or jump could snap the board, but they are stronger than your typical PU board without a doubt. Worth the investment for a kite/surf stick.

To give you an example, I am 6'4", 210 lbs, ride the 6'0" quad in 10-15 on my 15M kite no issues staying upwind. It snaps like a charm top to bottom and loves to ride upwind.

    Good luck.
