Is there any optional pads/straps package confirmed by FW?
If yes, when will it be available (worldwide)?

    Thanks

    Phil,

Most likely will be doing a custom package of some sort. Looking at Dakine wave lace with a combo stomp pad and front pad. Will be included in board cost.

    Like felix noted, details soon.

    Thanks for the update

We have just received the frst bunch of boards yesterday (5'11, 6'0 & 6'2, some with deco, some without)... nacked (fins only).
Is there any plan to complement the boards with the custom package later on? without additional cost?

I'm really interested in the KTJ 5'11. Felix is doing a great job describing them :-) - they sound amazing.

However I also need straps and pads, and I've spent a lot of time trawling the internet to try and find the right gear. Straps and rear pads are available, but I can't find any front pads yet. I'm sure I'm not the only person doing this.

The availability of straps/pads will affect my (and I'm sure other people's) buying decision, especially since it seems that some components will be hard to source. I know I would need to be asolutely sure I've got the right screws for the strap/pad combo since I don't want to risk screwing through to the core or stripping the inserts.... so I only want to consider a Firewire when I know it comes complete with all the right accessories.

Hi Nofootbelts, do you have any more concrete information on when the strap/pad package will be available in the UK? Will it be available in time for our windy season (start of September)?
  3.
Yes, we have the package ready almost. It will contain a Dakine longboard setup on the front deck as well as a tail pad with all hardware and straps included. This will the 'strapped' package. I reccomend contacting FW directly in regards to purchasing this packet for your board(s). Thanks!

    Thanks for the response nofootbelts.

I've emailed Firewire twice via the contacts page of their website to ask abou the footstraps package, but I havn't received any reply.

Do you have a working contact email address - or do Firewire not respond to customers directly?

Still interested in the KTJ 5'11, but only with straps!

Hey. Same as above, called and left messages, sent e-mails, no response. Going to pull the trigger on a surfboard in the next 24 hours. Its going to be a Naish or preferably a Firewire Taj. Are they ready to ship with Pads and Straps?

So, what's the best way to contact Firewire to get a board and pad/straps package? There's no option for this order on the online store.

    Thanks.

same with me, got answer once about Da kine possibility but couldnt find anything fitting.
Actually i dont care who manufactures the straps.
i just need to have the right screw size to not mess up the inserts.
Then i can get straps from whichever brand.
So guys what is the issue?
Would anyone from Firewire provide a sufficient answer please?!
    thx

    Hi Folks,

We are limiting the pads/straps to certain markets (mainly Europe). The pad/strap offering is in the works. The DaKine longboard and Dakine X-lace have been used but there are a number of options to choose from with a Google search. Screws should be 1.25"/3.175cm stainless steel with a small stainless and nylon washer (see attached).

After a google search for pad/straps options, I disagree with the notion that there are lots of options. A good pad and straps designed for a kiting board as an option will definitely be a factor in my decision. I think Firewire is loosing more sales than they realize due to this oversight.

We prefer to keep our pricing low and allow the consumer the option for straps and pads. Many strapless customers don't want the additional costs. Dakine longboard pads work as a front pad
    https://www.google.com/search?q=dakine+longboard+traction+pad&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

and NSI offer complete pad kits and straps http://www.northshoreinc.com/store/pc/viewCategories.asp?idCategory=64

Whatever pad/strap system you choose make certain to use screws that are provided with the boards or pay attention to screw length as mentioned on the stickers that come on the boards.

    Thanks,
    -Brian

Where can I get the Dakine xlace wave straps and pads complete with screws on oahu?
  5.
Got the new hellfire. Sticker on board says 3/4" inch screws only. That seems short.
    Any suggestions?

    Brad

    I also have the Hellfire.

I think the 3/4 inch is only for the rear 2 holes that are positioned directly above the center fin box.
y board only had the stickers over the rear 2 holes.

Insert the needles or something thin and you will notice the depth of these 2 holes is less than the rest. Its confusing beacuse the screws I got with the board were not 3/4 inch.

Anyway I used 3/4 inch for the rear hole and 1 inch for the rest.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers

Ian, thanks for the help. I didn't get screws with the board. Trying to find correct ones. Frustrating.
Do you know if they are machine screws/wood screws etc. And if so what size? ie, #10

I know they need to be stainless but thats about it. I'm also investigating pads and straps. The pad system in this forum isn't great, either. Why would they do all the grphics on the new boards only to cover it all up with pads.
Maybe i have to ride strapless. haha

    Hi Brad

Goto your local Marine / Boat supplier.

Check out 8 gauge 3/4 for the back 2 holes, and 1 inch or 1.25 inch self tapping stainless steel screws. They cost like 20 c each so just grab a bunch in different sizes to see what best fits.

As far as pads just I just used Dakine Fish rear pad and Dakine LOngboard for the front pad.

You can see a pic of my board on the following link.

If you give me an email I can send more info.

    Cheers

Here's my pad set up. Surfco Hawaii has various clear stomp pads which at least lets you see some of the graphics.

Firewire foot strap inserts however offer limited placement options. Quite frustrating. Can't imagine a larger rider getting the foot straps to work for them. I hope they remedy this.

    Brad,

Quick update-we have gone from a 3 hole insert in the front to a 5 hole and a 2 hole insert on the rear foot to a 4 hole which should provide more adjustment. Nice clear pad!
