    Hey guys,
I know you get a lot of posts like this on the forum here, but I just wanted to throw out a quick question to help me pick out the right board.

    I am 5'7, 175 Pounds.
Been kiting for 7 years, totally comfortable in the surf. Always ride strapless and mostly unhooked, conditions permitting.
I have a Naish 5'8 Fish which I like but I am looking to add another board to the quiver. I tried my buddies FireWire board in Brazil and was immediately sold. Problem is, it wasn't a "kite" surfboard, so we beat the crap out of it doing strapless airs and such. How much extra beef do the kite specific surfboards have compared to the regular boards?

Do I go with the 5'11 or the 6''2??

I really appreciate any suggestions anyone can give to me.

I am from Canada so the waves we get here are rarely clean and usually pretty small and mushy. I will mostly travel for waves..

    Steinman,

For you because of your size, yes the 6 quad will work...but may be too much volume for you. It is a great mushy surf/light wind board for sure.

I would personally go with the 511 taj board. It is like a skateboard and is INSANE....

Regarding construction, yes the kiteboards are very much beefed up...little extra weight, but the power of kiting literally eliminates that factor. Get some!

    Hey Steinman,

We have the new Dominator 5'8" that is just coming out which may be the best of both worlds with a 5 fin setup and a little extra volume to get you through the mushy stuff.

5'11" Taj for your travel is an insane board as well that folks really like (also my fav) and I weigh about a nickel less than you. We've been beating the heck out of the prototypes and these boards are super solid so no worries there.

Thanks for the interest and let us know if we can get you any additional info.
