I have a 2010 KFE (less than a year old). I've put a number of heel dents in the board -- I ride it with straps and a deck pad. One ripped clean through the deck pad and was repaired by a local shop. I am pretty sure another is clean through but fully covered by the deck pad. And the other heel areas have gone pretty soft. I think the deck needs quite a bit of repair -- maybe like a total overhaul -- and I am wondering how you guys recommend handling something like this. (There are no Firewire repair shops anywhere near where I live.) Thanks in advance for the advice.

    kc,

You mentioned your not close to a repair facility http://www.firewiresurfboards.com/repairs.php but you might consider shipping to one of them for the repair. Depending on how thick your current deck pad is, a thicker deck pad may also help once the board is repaired. Sounds like you've been putting some miles on your board. The latest round of boards are really solid if you decide it time to upgrade.
