I am looking at purchasing a kite dominator for kiting and surfing in small surf. I was wondering what was the weight difference between the two boards? And also if there is any other difference between them.

Also, has anyone kited on a Sweet Potato and how was it?

    Croc,

The kite specific Dominator will be heavier for sure but is extremely durable and will last you much longer if you plan on kiting on this model. I've been surfing it and it's way fun for head high or less waves. Great for light wind as well.

Haven't heard on the Sweet Po for kiting, but keep checking back, we are getting ready to release the 5'6" Hellfire in the coming months and while not as small/round as the spud it will be sick.

    Croc,

Had a chance to get out on one of the first 5'6" Hellfire's today and the board is fantastic. Wind was still filling in and I set it up as a Tri with our Deviant fin in the rear. The board would upwind like nobody's business. Then the wind came up a hair more and I set it up as a quad which was also amazing. I had the smallest kite on the water and I wouldn't have been able to stay upwind on my regular board. Hellfire 5'6" should be shipping in the coming weeks.

More on the Deviant here: http://www.firewiresurfboards.com/quiver_deviant.php
Highly recommend it to accessorize your quiver.
