    hi

hope you can help me with my search for the right board. I mostly ride in the Netherlands where we have 3-6 ft (wind) swell. taking into account I weigh 86 kg would de dominator by my best choice? (currently ride a slingshot srt 5.11 2007 model)

    thanks for your help!

    Hi Dennis,

Tough call, are you planning to ride strapped or strapless? The Dominator would work well in that size surf and has more volume which also makes it a great light wind board. The Taj 5'11" would be a closer fit to your slingshot but more high performance than the Dominator.

    Hello,

Sorry to hi-jack Dennis' post but have the same question pretty much so figure keep in this topic.

I am looking to start going strapless on days when the waves are smaller (3-6 ft) and was wondering what board might work best for me. I would love it if I could throw straps on it when the waves get bigger and the wind comes up but my first priority is strapless at this point. I am about 6'3" and 205-210lbs when wet. Have been looking at the Quad but Dominator looks interesting as well. I have no real surfing background so looking for advice on shapes and lengths, etc. Quad seems like it might work better for an all around board. Where the Dominator looks like it might be just for smaller waves. Am I on the right track here?

    Thanks,
    Chris

    Hey Chris,

Yep. right on target with your assessment. Dominator is great for smaller waves that may be mushy. The QuadraFlex would hold tight on the bigger stuff but also has enough volume to get you out there on the smaller days. Both are great light wind boards but at our size I'd lean towards the Quadraflex. Also, the QuadraFlex now ships as a 5 fin setup so you have options on how you want to ride it.

    Hope this helps,
    -Brian

    Brian,
Thanks for the response. Sounds like I should go with the Quadraflex. Having the 5 fin setup is also a huge bonus.

    All the best,
    Chris
  1.
Also keep in mind although a little while out we are working on a prototype 5 10 hellfire...which will be a better crossover across the board.

    Great things happening!

    Both,

I am 85kg and ride in x onshore waves knee to head height. I have the 6' quadra5 and the taj 5'11. Both are fantastic, if I was under 80kg I think the taj would be my one board, but when the wind has got some holes in it and I need some more float the quadra 5 does brilliantly and still turns really tightly. Had them a week and ridden both pretty much every day. As an all-round board I think the 6' would be hard to beat
