    Hello,
I am planning to buy a Firewire but am still balancing between the 6.0 and the 5.8
I am 78kgs and have 12/9 Bolt kites and am looking for riding in light winds (around 12 knots) and small waves (up to 1.5m) so I was wondering what is the big difference between those two boards. I understand that the 5.8 is a bit more versatile and will start earlier (but maybe not that much) while the 6.0 will start slightly later (1-2 knots difference) but will be better to progress in the long term. Any advices from guys who have tried both and have my weight? Do you know at how many will I be able to ride? Thanks a lot. Fred

    Fred,

I'm tipping the scales at around 75kgs and have ridden both. The 5'8" will get the job done in light wind. It's a hybrid designed for mushier waves which translates to light wind machine. Also can be setup as a tri or quad.

    Hope this helps,
