    Hi,
I'm looking for a board that will be durable enough to kite on (strapless) and also surf well for days with no wind. I know the kite models have a bunch of inserts in them for straps, would laying on the inserts be uncomfortable? I guess I can just wax over them? Would I be better off just getting the regular surf model since I'm not going to be using staps, or is it not durable enough for kiting?

    Howdy,

The inserts are recessed so no worry of them getting in the way and you can simply wax over them. Lot's of folks surfing and kiting the same FireWire kite boards and would recommend getting a kite specific model if you planning on kiting due to the extra impact kiting puts on the boards.
