"We believe that refinements to the shape of today's modern surfboard can only produce incremental performance benefits"

"Exponential improvements in performance can only be achieved through new materials and construction methods which in turn will open up new design opportunities"

    I'm 170#, 5' 7" and I have a lively, fast 5' 5" x 17.25" Trespass (PU construction) that I LOVE as long as I have plenty of power.

I have to drive hours to get to waves (Lake Superior), so 80% of my sessions are on flat chop and mild swell (when I'm lucky). Even off waves, I think a surfboard is just more fun than a square board. But on flat water every session is framed in anticipation of the next wave session (sad, huh?). Strapped and unstrapped.

I'm aiming for for a board to compliment the one I have at the lower end. Quicker to plane and more glide in lighter conditions, with less kite, or less wave power (will I be able to sell my Door?). So that means less rocker, more volume & width, maybe Quad(?), and hopefully less weight than my 5'5" at 9.5 pounds. All that and still great carves and snap, please.

I like what I read here about flex. A stiff board is no good. I rode a few FW surfboards in South Padre this spring and liked them. I hope the FW kite strengthening is still letting the flex through.

So - I'm thinking QF, DM, or HF. What would you recommend?

    Hey Barry,

What your describing has the 5'6" KHF Hellfire written all over it. Definitely will get up and plane quickly. Can be setup as a tri or quad, but would go the quad route for the best light wind performance. Your not going to lose the flex with our latest construction and as a bonus it's still extremely durable!

    Thanks for the interest,
