DESCRIPTION

Inspired by the outline of the Great White Shark, Kelly Slater designed the ‘Great White Twin’ in I-Bolic Technology with Volcanic Lamination alongside Bali-based shaper Mike Woo.

This is a high performance groveler with the paddle and catching of a hybrid, and the on-rail performance of a shortboard. It fits where most fish don’t - it creates speed in weak waves, controls speed in powerful waves, and excels at tight arcs in punchy pockets and quick wraps on shoulder sections. It's volume is hidden at center with fine rails for immediate response and quick reaction in the pocket. It has the speed of a twin fin with the immediate response of a thruster, and it's elevated tail rocker makes it magic on your backhand.

Recommended to surf at your performance volume, or just slightly more.

Wave Type

As you'd expect from a Slater Designs shape, this model is for high performance surfing, but can excel in everyday waves as well. Recommended in 2-6' conditions, from weak waves and poor conditions to solid waves and hollow conditions.

Board Features

The Great White Twin has a hip by the twin fins creating a pivot point, with volume hidden at center for ease of paddle and catching waves, with fine rails for immediate response and quick reaction in the pocket. Featuring a third fin box for a trailer, this model is incredibly versatile when paired with the Twin + 2 fin set.

Kelly Slater

I've done a couple turns on the Great White Twin that are as good as any turns I can do on a regular thruster.

Love it

"Fantastic in waist to slightly overhead waves. Easy wave catching and incredibly fast and loose even as 2+1"

Frist twin and was

"Frist twin and was skeptical about getting because its high-performance twin. Surfed it about 6 times and waves were 3-6ft within the span I surfed it. Paddles incredibly well loose and carries a ton of speed. Still learning but I'm blown away about how good it surfs. Turns on the dime and can easily be surfed in overhead surf (holds amazing). I got a 5. 10 and I'm 165lbs (will size down def on the next board since it paddles so well). Paired it with Kellys Twin your good to go. Kelly if you read this post more videos of you riding this. Woo you da man!"

Great board, especially if

"Great board, especially if you are around 5'10"" and weigh 205 lbs. volume holds well and the board has tons of flexibility."

First time I rode

"First time I rode this board, after surfing like 4 head high waves to perfection, a guy in the line up said, “what kind of board is that, is it some kind of magic wand? And that's how I'd describe this board. A couple turns I've been try all the time to pull off on the board I've been riding for the last 7 years, my success rate was like 25%. I always blamed myself or the wave. Then on the first day, first wave that I'm riding this board, those turns happened EFFORTLESSLY! The turn was a fins out, throwing buckets top turn. This board glides, flies, and turns like the magic board you ride in your dreams."
