Description

The TJ Pro V is Taylor Jensen's longboard designed to excel in everyday conditions. When Taylor and Dan Mann started the design process, the guidelines were simple: make it fast, loose and free. Make a longboard that’s all about making surfing fun in a wide range of conditions without compromising performance.

What came out of years of testing and refining is the TJ Pro V: an all conditions fun-formance longboard that excels in average 2-6' surf.

The DNA of the Pro V is rooted in the TJ Pro, with tweaks to optimize performance in average surf. It has a lower rocker profile to make paddling and skating across soft flat sections easy, and a wider nose for more stability on the tip. The squash tail and the added spiral V out the tail allows for more release and makes it easier to lean into tighter turns and feel loose under foot. Can be ridden in either as a quad or a Two Plus One, making this an incredibly versatile longboard.

Wave Type

This is Taylor Jensen's performance longboard model designed to work well in poor-to-average conditions, perfect in 2-3' beachbreak surf. TJ went to world-class shaper Dan Mann for something a bit flatter, faster, and doesn't need as much wave to push it - something that excels in the flat sections and gutless surf.

Board Features

This everyday performance longboard was designed to be a bit looser than the TJ Pro to unlock a bit more fun. The shape has a bit more nose area than the TJP to skim across the flats to noseride easier, a bit more drastic double concave to speed things up through flat sections, and also a Quad fin configuration option. Taylor says, "Quads are one of the most fun fin setups for longboards, and this configuration makes things super loose and free and makes your longboard feel like a much shorter board."

I’ve been riding my

"I’ve been riding my Pro V in everything from 3’ to well overhead surf here in central Florida. This board has been so fun! On the smaller side of that riding it 2-1. One the larger side as a quad. This last run of overhead surf was incredibly fun. I’m an older surfer transitioning up from mids or just surfing this board when I don’t feel like surfing a mid (Revo Max and TJ Pro Mid) and this board (for the surf size explained) has brought the fun back! By far the best longboard i’ve surfed in this range. Fyi love my Hull for 3’ or less."

Purchased at Firewire Currumbin

"Purchased at Firewire Currumbin last November. Tried the 2+1 setup with TJ's signature as the center fin and Firewire Velox medium on the sides. One thing I'm really surprised with this board is how easy it is to maneuver, do cutbacks, etc. and when the wave gets hollow, it will provide you the speed and stability at the same time. Tried the quad setup using Firewire Velox as well - it's like adding a turbo into your car! I used to have the Firewire TT Flexflight, and man, the TJ Pro V is in a different league!"
